Stem Cell Postdoctoral Positions
This page presents some of the postdoctoral positions offered at UCSD in Stem Cell Science and Biomedicine.

A rare opportunity has opened for a Fast Track Scholar in Alzheimer’s Disease research.  UCSD Stem Cell Program Fast Track Scholars are unique individuals who are capable of extremely rapid career acceleration though they may lack extensive postdoctoral experience.  Please go to http://stemcells.ucsd.edu/fasttrack.asp

Select positions exist for physicians with research projects relevant to the application of stem cell medicine in the clinic.  Physicians who are in residency or immediately post-residency are eligible to be CIRM UCSD Clinical Fellows with applications due November 1, 2009 for appointment in June, 2010.  Please go to: http://stemcells.ucsd.edu/cirm_research_and_training_grant.asp

POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS are available in Dr. Yang Xu's laboratory at University of California, San Diego (http://www-biology.ucsd.edu/index.html). The positions are for researchers who are interested in mechanisms underlying the self-renewal and differentiation of human embryonic stem cells and induced pluripotent stem cells. We are also investigating the translational potential of these pluripotent stem cells. Highly motivated Ph.D or M.D candidates with strong background and publication record in molecular biology, development, transplantation immunology and cancer biology are encouraged to apply.

Please send cover letter, curriculum vitae with the names of three references to Yang Xu, Ph.D. at yangxu@ucsd.edu.

A Postdoc position is available to conduct in vitro and in vivo experiments to reconstruct the genetic network that regulates pluripotency and differentiation of hES cells. There will be a close collaboration with computational biologists in the group to integrate experimental and computational analyses for understanding the mechanisms of reprogramming cell fate.  Please see http://wanglab.ucsd.edu/

We encourage you to look at individual UC San Diego lab web pages for other possible opportunities.

Thanks!
